The MSSC currently has a vacancy for a Deputy Area Officer based at its London Area Office in St Katharine’s Dock.

The DAO is an integral member of the Area Management Team, led by the Area Officer, with wide ranging responsibilities relating to the management of the Area’s training and other wide ranging operations. The role requires a proven all-rounder with excellent communication and management skills in terms of both projects and people. The post holder will have specific responsibility for the co-ordination of the Area training programme (both cadets and adults), management of area personnel, communications/PR and databases. There will also be opportunities for further self development and future business development of London Area. A RN, military or uniformed background and/or knowledge of the Sea Cadet Corps would be advantageous but is not essential.

The MSSC currently has a vacancy for a Area Office Manager based at its London Area Office in St Katharine’s Dock.

The successful applicant will manage the Area Office administrative staff and should have strong communication and people management skills. The post requires competency in the Microsoft Office software package and ECDL would be advantageous. Applicants must have proven experience of budget and accounts management and excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills. The ability to prioritise and to work effectively alone, or as part of a team, is essential and previous experience of working with volunteers would be an advantage.
