Developing Counselling Skills

Provider: Offered in conjunction with the National Extension College.

What's this about?

The activities in this course will help you relate what you learn to your everyday work. The study topics include counselling skills, essential qualities, advanced responding skills, change and transition, and self care.


What you will get from it

The course follows on from Introduction to Counselling and will help strengthen your counselling skills and assist in gaining the NCFE Level 2 Award.


Is it for me?

You must have successfully completed Introduction to Counselling Skills. You will also need people to act as clients for counselling, and for accreditation you will also need a partner and a witness for the exercises.


Examination issues

Three assignments, plus a reflective journal and either a taped interview, a transcript of interview, or a detailed account of an interview with a client.


Qualification?

Leads to the NCFE Level 2 award in Counselling Skills.

This is a text based distance learning programme: attendance is not required and you may enrol at any time.

£185, which includes cost of course materials and tutor support.
